Mangaluru: Angry over the lack of drinking water for the people of Karambaru Banthadka under Shirlalu Gram Panchayat limits, locals came to the Panchayat with water pots and buckets and staged a protest on Friday February 24.
Angry locals of Banthadka under Shirlalu gram Panchayat in Belthangady Taluk, who have not been getting proper water for the past four to five days, went to the Panchayat and staged a protest.
The locals, who lashed out at the Panchayat Project Development Officer said that they did not have proper water.
Locals Anand Poojary, Thimmappa Shetty, Siddique Banthadka, Harish, Suresh, Lakshmi, Ashraf, Mohammed, Koragappa and others led the protest. Large number of women had also gathered in the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, the PDO and local representatives said that proper funds have been arranged. They assured that remedial action will be taken soon.
