Udupi: In a rare incident, Vishu Shetty, a social worker from Udupi and Dr. Uday Kumar of Sree Sai Sevashrama, Daigoli in Manjeshwara were among those who helped a lady who left her family and took to the streets due to mental illness. Sapna returned to her family after three years. She recovered from illness with the help of a couple.
The woman is Sapna, a 33-year-old from Bihar. A year ago, Vishu Shetty, who had taken information about the woman who took shelter in gunny bags on a divider on the National Highway in the City and was leading a tragic life by eating raw fish and screaming, took the woman into custody with the help of the public and admitted her to Sri Sai Sevaashrama in Manjeshwara.
Sapna, who recovered after the medical treatment and care of Dr. Uday Kumar couple of Sevashrama, gave the address of her family in Bihar. But it was a challenging task to take her to the place of address. So with the help of Shraddha Rehabilitation Centre in Mumbai, the woman was reunited with her family.
