Karwar: Former MLA Satish Sail visited the remote villages of Goyar and Kote in Karwar Taluk in Uttara Kannada District and listened to the problems of the locals.
Deprived of basic amenities, the people of these villages were informed about various problems being faced. The problem of drinking water is mainly there in the region. People have to walk about 3 kms. There is a situation where water is brought from a distance to drink. If students want to go to school and college, they have to go through Karwar and Siddha. But even there, there is no proper bus facility. It is about 6 kms from these villages. Students and the people here have to walk and take a bus from there. The villagers complained of their problems as they were unable to go to school on time and people were finding it difficult to go to court, office and other functions.
There is no proper street lighting. There is also a network problem. After listening to the problems of the students for aiding students’ studies and the fact that there would be a very serious health problem for the people in this hamlet, Sail assured that these very important and humanitarian issues would be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner and requested to stay in the village as per the demand of the people and provide suitable solutions to the problems of the locals.
