Hubballi-Dharwad: In a strong push to curb persistent criminal activities, authorities have invoked the Karnataka Goonda Act against four individuals involved in illegal operations ranging from bootlegging and drug trafficking to gambling and slum encroachments. The Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Slum Grabbers Act, 1985, was enforced following repeated offenses by the accused.

Sagar Lakkundi, from the Old Hubballi Police Station limits, has been sent to Central Prison, Dharwad.
Manjunath Bhandari, under Keshwapur Police Station, is now lodged at Central Prison, Kalaburagi.
Dawood Nadaf, operating under Hubballi City Police jurisdiction, has been shifted to Central Prison, Mysuru.
Lakshman Ballari, from Bendigeri Police Station limits, has been incarcerated at Central Prison, Ballari.
Police officials stated that this decisive action is part of a broader strategy to ensure public safety and suppress the activities of habitual offenders. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order by taking strict action against individuals posing a threat to community welfare.
