Deepa Adavimath is the teacher, who received the anonymous threat letter through the post five days ago. She reported the threat to the Keshwapura police, prompting a visit from the police to her residence in Bengeri, Hubballi.

Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar told News Karnataka that the lady reported about the letter to the police, though it is a non-cognisable offence, they obtained permission from the court and FIR registered and policemen also deployed.  She also said they go deep into this matter and have not taken this case lightly.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shivprakash Naik visited Deepa’s house to gather more information. As a precautionary measure, police have been deployed near her residence. The letter has created further anxiety in the community, especially in light of the previous murders of Neha and Anjali.

Deepa Adavimath, speaking about the incident, said, “On May 28, I received an anonymous letter stating that my murder is imminent, similar to Neha and Anjali. I have no enmity with any students, and none of the students harbor ill feelings towards me.” The letter was addressed to Rotary Primary High School in Bengeri.

“Whoever wrote such a letter should be punished. We are innocent teachers. I do not suspect any students. All students show love and respect towards me. Some students have even saved my mobile number as ‘God.’ I have been living in fear since the day the letter arrived,” said Deepa Adavimath.

The police are continuing their investigation, and security measures have been heightened to ensure the safety of Deepa and the school community.
