In a heartbreaking incident in Yari Narayanapur near Kundgol, Dharwad district, three-year-old twin brothers Mudassir and Muzammil lost their lives after accidentally falling into a lake on Thursday.
The children, sons of daily-wage worker Sharif Chandukhan, were reportedly playing near the water’s edge when they slipped and fell in. Local residents who witnessed the incident rushed to rescue them and managed to pull them out with assistance from others nearby.
The twins were immediately taken to the government hospital in Kundgol, but doctors declared them brought dead.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
