In a heart-wrenching incident near Echanahalli on the outskirts of Hassan, tragedy struck as a drowsy driver collided with a truck, resulting in the complete destruction of the car. The occupants, comprising three women, one child, and two men, tragically lost their lives in the collision.
The incident, which occurred within the jurisdiction of the Hassan traffic police station, prompted a visit from Hassan District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Sujeta. Rescue efforts were arduous as authorities worked tirelessly to extract the bodies from the wreckage.
The family of six from Chikkaballapura was returning home after reportedly obtaining medicine for the child in Mangaluru when the fatal accident occurred in Nadde Manpara near Echanahalli during the early morning hours.
The vehicle involved belonged to Manoj Kumar. Chikkaballapur MLA Pradeep Eshwar has urged prompt investigation by Chikkaballapura District Superintendent of Police D L Nagesh and RTO officials to ascertain the car’s ownership and the identities of its occupants.
