Their vehicle is said to have collided with a truck on National Highway 75, resulting in the incident.
According to police sources, the dead included a child, three men, and two women.
They claimed that all of them, with the exception of the driver, were members of the same Chikkaballapura family and that they were on their way back from Mangaluru.
