The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that dry weather conditions will persist in the region, exacerbating the heatwave with no immediate relief in sight.
Dry Spell Persists, Heatwave Warnings Extend to Surrounding Regions
In addition to Dakshina Kannada, neighboring districts such as Udupi and Uttara Kannada are also experiencing the brunt of the heatwave. The IMD has issued warnings for possible heatwaves in North Karnataka, Hyderabad Karnataka, and several districts of South Karnataka until April 29. Temperatures are expected to rise further by two to three degrees Celsius, intensifying the already scorching conditions.

Mangaluru, a major city in the region, recorded a high temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, coupled with a low of 26.7 degrees Celsius on Thursday. With heat and humidity levels soaring, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay hydrated and safe during this period of extreme weather.
