Bengaluru : The state government led by the Congress was branded as “anti-Hindu” on Tuesday by Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra, following the arrest of a person in Hubballi, Karnataka, on suspicion of inciting riots following the 1992 demolition of the Babri Masjid.
“The Karnataka government is consistently demonstrating its anti-Hindu stance. Srikant Poojari, a Hindu worker, was arrested yesterday in Hubballi after a 31-year-old case was reopened; we vehemently denounce this, Mr. Vijayendra stated.

“We are going to hold a huge protest throughout the state, mainly in Freedom Park tomorrow, against the anti-Hindu government and anti-Hindu Chief Minister,” he added.

The opposition’s charge of hate politics in relation to the arrest of a man connected to the 1992 riots that followed the demolition of the Babri Masjid was previously rejected by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah questioned, “What should be done to the wrongdoers? ” in response to the arrest. Shall we simply leave them?

“We’ve instructed the police to close open cases. Nobody who wasn’t guilty has been detained. “We’ll follow the court’s orders and move forward accordingly,” he told reporters while at Koppa’s Basapur Airport.

The man’s arrest in Hubbali for his alleged involvement in the 31-year-old post-Babri demolition riots was denounced by the BJP. A protest against the state government has been called by the Karnataka state unit.

BJP leader BY Vijayendra addressed the issue earlier, stating, “They have arrested a Ram bhakt when the state and the entire nation are waiting for January 22.” We vehemently reject this. “We are calling for a protest throughout the state against the government and anti-Hindu accusations,” he stated.

In the meantime, a Chief Minister Siddaramaiah effigy was set on fire in protest of the Hubballi arrest. Peethadheeshwar Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya of Tapaswi Camp in Ayodhya organized the demonstration.

The Peethadheeshwar Ayodhya Tapaswi camp called for the overthrow of the Siddaramaiah government and the reinstatement of the president’s rule in the state.

“We demand the rule of the President. If the Siddaramaiah government is not overthrown right away, the saints of Ayodhya will march on Karnataka “said the speaker.

“300 Kar Sevaks are being falsely implicated over their alleged involvement in Babri Masjid demolition in 1992,” he added.
