In a strong move against underage and reckless driving, a local court in Hubballi has slapped a ₹25,000 fine on the father of a minor boy caught performing a bike wheeling stunt in Unkal.
The incident came to light after a video of the stunt went viral. Acting swiftly, the police intercepted the boy, seized the vehicle, and issued a notice to the parents for allowing the minor to ride.
The boy’s father, Abdul Rasool Khan Tinawale, was held accountable under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. The court ruled that guardians must be responsible for preventing such dangerous activities.
Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar urged parents to avoid handing over two-wheelers to underage children, citing the serious risks to both the minors and the public.
Authorities have reiterated their intent to crack down on such violations to curb rising incidents of risky stunts and underage driving on city roads.
