Hubballi: In a heartwarming display of honesty, an autorickshaw driver in Hubballi returned a bag containing valuables worth Rs 8 lakh to its owner.

The incident happened on April 17, when Nagaraj, the auto-rickshaw driver, dropped three passengers from Gokul Road Bus Stand to Hosur Regional Terminal in the city. One of the female passengers, while alighting, left her bag containing 40 grams of gold, 160 grams of silver, and important documents in the auto-rickshaw itself and boarded the bus.

The driver noticed the bag left behind by the passenger; he immediately went to the Gokul Road police station and handed over the bag to them. Later, the police located the owner of the bag and summoned them to the station.

The police handed over the bag to the woman, who is from Nizamuddin Colony in Dharwad, in the presence of autorickshaw driver Nagaraj. The police felicitated him for displaying remarkable honesty.
