Hubballi: “The Kalasa-Banduri agitation has been turned into a people’s movement and beyond politics. In coming days, the agitation should be without any party difference. We need your advice and direction”, said JD(S) superemo H D Devegowda to Nadoja Pateela Puttappa.

The former Prime Minister visited the house of Pateela Puttappa to discuss Kalasa Banduri and Mahadayi river issue here on Sunday. Pateela Puttapa agreed to support the cause.

Prior to the meet, Gowda visited the house of farmer Bharamagowda Naganagowda from Nagarahalli who committed suicide over loan payment and gave a cheque of Rs 25,000. He consoled the family of deceased farmer.

While speaking on the occasion, he lambasted at Central government and said that the present government at the Centre has decided to make smart cities. But in villages, farmers have been ending thier lives over different issues. PM Modi is not seeing all these problems.

Gowda appealed all the farmers to involve themselves in non-agricultural activities along with agriculture. They should not commit suicides, he requested.
