In a significant enforcement action, food inspector Suresh H S conducted a raid at the residence of Ashfaque in Nayakawadi, Gujjadi village, where he uncovered an illegal stock of rice designated for the government’s Anna Bhagya scheme. This scheme aims to provide subsidized rice to the economically disadvantaged sections of society.

During the operation, the authorities discovered 550 kg of rice, valued at Rs 18,700, allegedly stored by two individuals, Hamza and Ganesh. The illicit storage of government-subsidized rice not only violates regulations but also deprives deserving beneficiaries of their rightful entitlements.

Following the seizure, a formal case has been registered against Hamza and Ganesh at the Gangolli police station. The incident has raised concerns about the misuse of government resources and highlights the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in ensuring that welfare schemes reach those in need.

Local officials have urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to government welfare schemes. This operation underscores the commitment of the food inspection authorities to uphold the integrity of public assistance programs.
