Kalaburagi, Karnataka — In a disturbing event from Kalaburagi district, a minor girl attending to her ailing father in a local hospital was allegedly attacked by a hospital staffer. The incident occurred within the VV Police Station limits and came to light after a formal complaint was lodged.
Police officials stated that the victim had been staying at the hospital for several days to care for her father, who had recently undergone surgery. With her mother being differently-abled, the young girl had taken full responsibility for her father’s recovery.
The accused, employed as a housekeeping worker at the medical facility and known to the family, reportedly took advantage of the situation. According to authorities, he convinced the girl to accompany him under the guise of handing over clothes and committed the act in a secluded area of the hospital.
Following the complaint, local police acted swiftly and arrested the accused. He has since been remanded to judicial custody. The case has been filed under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, ensuring stringent legal action.
Investigators mentioned that the accused is from the same village as the victim and was often seen helping the family with daily needs at the hospital.
