In a disturbing incident from Kalaburagi taluk, an assistant English teacher at a government high school has been suspended over serious allegations of sexual misconduct involving female students.

According to preliminary reports, the teacher is accused of frequently calling girl students into the computer room and behaving inappropriately. Despite multiple warnings from the victims, his actions reportedly continued unchecked—forcing concerned parents to raise the matter with education authorities.

Taking swift action, Suryakant Madane, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) for Kalaburagi district, confirmed the teacher’s immediate suspension. He said, “At around 3 PM on Thursday, we received credible information about inappropriate behavior and offensive language used by the teacher. A three-member inquiry panel—comprising a senior education officer, a headmaster, and a female subject inspector—was promptly set up.”

A notice was served to the teacher on the same day, demanding a response within 24 hours. Simultaneously, the department placed him under immediate suspension pending further investigation.

DDPI Madane also confirmed that the case may attract charges under the POCSO Act, given that the complaints involve minor girls. The department has assured that a thorough and impartial probe is underway and that strict disciplinary and legal action will be taken if the allegations are substantiated.

Angered by the incident, parents and community members have called for robust mechanisms to protect the dignity and safety of girl students and demanded exemplary punishment to deter such misconduct in the future.
