Ballari: Doubting the fidelity of his wife, a man bludgeoned his wife and three-year-old daughter to death at a temple in the Hulavagalu village of the Harapanahalli taluk in Ballari. The incident occurred on Saturday night, according to the Harapanahalli police.
Allegedly, Siddappa, a resident of the village took his wife Pavithra (25) and daughter Mamatha to the Biradevarappa temple, located on the outskirts of the village, at midnight after an argument about his wife’s character. He took them to the temple, intending to make Pavithra vow in front of the deity about her character. While making the vow, Siddappa smashed her head in with a stone and killed her on the spot. He later took the stone to his daughter’s head and killed her on the spot as well.
The police have arrested the accused and the victims’ bodies have been placed in the Harapanahalli taluk hospital mortuary.
