Bidar: Administration to set up precautionary methods

Bidar: Deputy Commissioner S. L. Chennabasappa said, “Out of the 1,504 polling stations being set up in six Assembly constituencies in Bidar District, 348 have been identified as dangerous and 24 polling stations have been identified as vulnerable and voters need not afraid to come to the polls, he said.

Addressing a press conference at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office after the announcement of the elections, he said the Police Department is gearing up to conduct the elections peacefully. He said precautionary measures have been taken against 492 people for creating ruckus and disturbance during the elections and another 617 people have been monitored, out of which 561 have written undertakings of peaceful behaviour.

It was recommended to the District Administration to invoke the Goonda Act against three persons in the District. Action has been taken against two of them and the file of the other is at the disposal of the District Administration, he said.

As per the report submitted to the District Administration to deport 11 more people, orders have been issued for the deportation of the two and an order is awaited against nine more, he added.

Necessary facilities have been provided at the 38 checkposts set up in the District and the best performing check posts will be rewarded. He also said that two CCTV cameras have been installed at each of the check posts to monitor the functioning of the checkposts and live streaming has been arranged.
