Bidar: As an ordinary worker, I have been involved in the party organisation for 35 years. The BJP recognised my service and announced the ticket. Ishwar Singh Thakur, the BJP candidate from Bidar, appealed to the voters to give them a one-time opportunity to serve the people.
I have worked in bajrang dal for many years. I have handled many of the responsibilities entrusted to me by the party. I am excited to serve these people,” he said at a press conference in the city on Saturday. I don’t come from a political background. I have come to politics from an ordinary teacher’s family to serve the society. I am indebted to the parliamentary board, BJP national president, state unit president for giving me the ticket. I am ready to serve the people of Bidar round the clock,” he said.
Shashidhar Hosalli said Ishwar Singh had worked in the Bajrang Dal. He contested elections to serve Hindus. The Bidar MLA had put pressure on the police to register a case against Hindus who had gone to offer prayers near the Mahmoobad Gawana memorial in the Old City during Navratri. He appealed to Ishwar Singh to support him to ensure that such incidents do not get marred. BJP state executive members Somnath Patil and Chandrashekhar Gada were also present.
