Bidar: “The Government has declared only a few Taandas in my Constituency as Revenue Villages. Similarly, Bandeppa Kashempur, a Former Minister, Deputy Leader of the JD (S) Legislature Party, Chairman of the JD (S) Core Committee and MLA from Bidar South Assembly Constituency, appealed to the Government through the House to declare the remaining Taandas as Revenue Villages at the earliest.

Participating in the seventh day of the Budget Session at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on Monday February 20 he spoke on Revenue Villages and said the Government’s answer to the question asked by him regarding Revenue Villages was not correct. “More than a hundred villages are present in my constituency,” he asserted.

In its reply, the Government said that out of the 12 taandas, 8 tandas have been converted into Revenue Villages. It stated that 4 are still pending. A Taanda has been made a Revenue Village with respect to the Bagadal Taandas. However, the B-Taanda is pending. Still Vittalpura is mentioned in the North as Taanda. But it is not a Taanda but a village, it added.

“There are 23 taandas in Chitaguppa and Bidar Taluks in the same list given by the Government. According to this list, another 11 Taandas are yet to be converted into Revenue Villages. MLA Bandeppa Kashempur said that the issue of proposals should also be given importance as the title deeds were issued.

Bandappa said he was not satisfied with the Government’s reply.

Revenue Minister R. Ashoka said in his reply that he would take steps to convert taandas into Revenue Villages within this month if they were pending subject to our norms.
