Bidar: Ratna Deepa Kasture has demanded appropriate action against doctors due to a death of an infant allegedly owing to negligence of doctors.

Presenting a memorandum written on behalf of Subhas Chandra Bose Yuva Sangha to the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai through Nada Tahasildar Thana Kushanur, Ratna Deepa Kasture, District Vice-President, National Students’ Union of India, he said that Savita, a resident of Bedakunda Village in Kamalanagar Taluk, was admitted to the hospital for delivery at 1.00 pm on Sunday March 26. But unfortunately on Sunday no doctors are available except nurses. Savita was admitted to the hospital, kept here for about six hours and then taken to Santapura where she could not deliver. The Santapura Hospital doctors told to shift her to Bidar and due to the negligence of the doctors, Savita delivered midway and the infant died, he alleged.

“The reason for the child’s death was the absence of doctors at the Kushanur Hospital and the negligence of the staff there. Therefore, the concerned doctor should be suspended from service,” he said and warned of a fierce struggle in the coming days.
