Bidar: Next year Basava festival to be celebrated for 3 days

Bidar: Basavakalyan MLA Sharanu Salagara said that this year Basava Utsava was celebrated for two days in a grand manner but it will be celebrated for three days next year.

He was speaking after presiding over the valedictory function of Basava Utsava – 2023 held at Thera Ground in Basavakalyan on the evening of Sunday March 12.

He said, “I congratulate the officers and staff who worked hard for the success of Basava Utsav and all the people of the District and said that on March 24 this year, a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel will be unveiled at Gorta Village and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate it.

In the coming days, I will work towards making a Ring Road and Basavakalyan District Headquarters and an Airport here,” he said.

“Basava Utsav will be celebrated next year as a model festival for the State and fireworks should be seen all over the sky. I congratulate all those who have worked hard to make the Basava Festival a success,” he said.

Basava Utsava – 2023 commemorative issue was released on the occasion. During Basava Utsava various dance troupes and music programmes attracted the audience.

A number of programmes including singing, vachana gayana, and drama added en extra charm to Basava Festival.
