Bidar: Former Minister, Deputy Leader of the JD (S) Legislature Party, JD (S) Core Committee Chairman and MLA from Bidar South Assembly Constituency Bandeppa Kashempur has expressed his displeasure over the Union Budget, saying that it is not a pro-farmer, pro-poor, and pro-labour budget.
Reacting to the Budget presented by the Central Government in Bidar, he said that the people of the country were looking forward to this Budget of a double engine Government with a lot of expectations. “Similarly, the people of Karnataka also had a lot of faith in the Union Budget. All of us were expecting a profitable budget for the State. But it doesn’t seem like how it appears to be,” he said.
He further alleged, “There are no major railway projects in this Budget. The farmers are in distress in every way. Due to rains, crops have been damaged due to disease. Farmers are not getting proper insurance and support prices. In order to double the income of farmers, farmers have not been given large-scale schemes. The present Rs. 2,000 is being given instead it could have been increased to Rs. 10,000. Even that work has not been done,” he said.
On the whole, this Budget is not in favour of farmers, poor and toiling people. Our expectations on a double-engine Government are misplaced. This Budget has not brought much happiness to Karnataka in any way. MLA Bandeppa Kashempur expressed displeasure that it was a disappointing Budget.
