DK Shivakumar Makes Sankalp to Return to Dattatreya Shrine as CM

Kalaburgi: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited the famous Deval Ganagapur on Friday evening to seek the blessings of Guru Datta Maharaj. During his visit, he made a “Sankalp” that he would revisit the shrine of Guru Dattatreya after becoming the chief minister of the state.

He offered special prayers to Guru Datta Maharaj, performed Paduka Darshan, performed Aarti. The priest who guided Shivakumar in performing religious rituals at the temple stated that he has the blessings of Lord Dattatreya and suggested that he visit the temple again once he becomes the chief minister of the state, to which Shivakumar agreed.

The Dattatreya temple, situated on the banks of the Amraja river in Afzhalpur taluk, is a renowned shrine visited by people from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Maharashtra. Visitors to the temple perform various rituals and seek alms from five houses in the village.

Uday Bhat Poojari, Prasanna P Poojari, Gangadhar Poojari, Praful P Poojari, and Devidas A Poojari guided Shivakumar in performing the rituals.
