Belagavi: BJP candidate from the Belagavi Lok Sabha segment, former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, did a housewarming ceremony on the occasion of Ugadi on Tuesday. Former CM Jagadish Shettar, who relocated from Hubballi to Belagavi after the party high command fielded him from this seat, organized the event.
Recently, Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar criticized Shettar, claiming that he is an outsider seeking political rebirth in Belagavi and has no address in the city. She questioned where people would go to meet him if he were elected as an MP.
In response to Hebbalkar’s statement, Shettar rented a house and held a housewarming ceremony, seen as a rebuttal to her remarks. Speaking to reporters at his new residence, Shettar clarified that he rented the house as he promised to the people, not in reaction to Hebbalkar’s comments. He also announced plans to open an office in the city to facilitate meetings with the public.
Expressing confidence in his victory, Shettar claimed that he is receiving positive responses from the public and said that he would win this election with a huge margin.
