Kalaburgi: A youth committed suicide by hanging after raping and killing a minor girl in Kotnoor (D) village on the outskirts of Gulbarga city.
Vijay Kumar is the name of the deceased who ended his life after raping and killing the minor girl. It is gathered that rape victim’s mother resides at his relative Jayaraj Rathod’s house, while Jayaraj Rathod is employed as a veterinary inspector at Shorapur.
Jayaraj’s brother Vijay entered victim’s room when her mother went out. He locked the room from inside and raped her. He killed her later before hanging himself. When the mother returned, she broke open the door only to find her daughter lying in a pool of blood and Vijay’s body hanging from the ceiling.
Victim’s mother has registered a complaint at the University Police Station.
