Koppal: “Around 4000 cases that were pending in the District Court are now finding respite through final verdicts”, said Koppal District Court Judge Sanjeev V Kulkarni.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday, November 12, he said, “In the district court, there are some important and crucial cases. Now the numbers have gone upto 4000.”
“I’m rendering my service as a judge from the past six months and trying my level best to have the cases resolved. This mammoth task cannot be achieved by a single judge. A proposal for an additional court has been submitted and very soon it will be established in Gangavati”, he added.
He also opined that with the establishment of an additional court, the cases could be solved on a fast-track basis.
Justice Kulkarni said, “According to the guidelines, a petitioner who wishes to file a case is given free legal advice and financial support from the District Legal Authority, based on the financial condition.”
“The District Legal Services Authority has helped several people by facilitating in filing their cases and guide them with proceedings”, he added.
Justice Sanjeev Kulkarni said that a legal awareness programme was being organised on the account of National Law Literacy Day (observed every year on November 9) for a period of 10 days, and its valedictory will be held in the Alwandi village.
