Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the city on Monday late evening and paid his last respresp to his cabinet colleague Ananth Kumar, who died in the wee hours of Monday.
Modi, who arrived straight from Varanasi after attending an event in his home constituency, landed at the HAL airport, where he was received by BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa. Later, he reached Ananth Kumar’s house directly, and to avoid the media, he entered the house through the back door. He placed a garland on the body and consoled the family members.
He spent about 30 minutes with Kumar’s family after which, he returned to New Delhi via the HAL airport.
