Madikeri: “In the 2014 elections, people had voted the Bharatiya Janata Party to power based on the agenda of ‘Development’ and ‘Hindutva.’ But this time around, Ayodhya Ram Mandir seems to be the agenda of the BJP and if they back out on this again, people must not vote for it”, said Sri Rama Sena Chief, Pramod Muthalik.

Addressing a press meet at Gonikoppal, he said, “I urge the Centre to construct the Ram Mandir which symbolises the sentiments of crores of Hindus.”

Speaking on the Sabarimala verdict, Muthalik opined, “In terms of religious beliefs, it is better to have a discussion with the religious leaders and take a decision.”

Meanwhile, he also congratulated the Karnataka chief minister and the deputy chief minister for not attending the Tipu Jayanti celebrations.

Muthalik said, “The Muslims themselves are on the back foot on the Tipu Jayanti celebrations because of which this celebration will have a full stop next year.”

He also insisted that all those who supported the celebration to look back into the history of Tipu and understand.

Muthalik criticised the state government saying, “The government itself neglected the programmes which were organised to celebrate Kittur Rani Chennamma Jayanti and Valmiki Jayanti. It has insulted such great souls.”

Sri Rama Sena office bearers Ganesh and Ashok Rai were present.
