Koppal: The Police Department is getting a bad name due to the corrupt practices of some of the officials who are not listening to the elected representatives. Kanakagiri MLA Dadesugur Basavaraj said that some police officers in the District, including Gangavathi, were not doing such a thing as to give a befitting reply to the elected representatives.
Speaking at the inauguration of the new police building, he said that the Police in the District are not responding to the common man. Some officials are not listening to the elected representatives, which has increased the arrogance of some officials, he alleged.
It is unfair that some police officers have been booked for assaulting 16-year-old boys in violation of the Constitution and in cases of sand and timber smuggling in the name of parties, some police officers are filing cases against the poor. I will fight along with the people against some officials who make money,” he said.
