Chamarajanagara: Mysuru’s Bidugade Organisation, like-minded people’s group and progressive thinkers took out an awareness jatha and dharna to remove untouchability in the City.

The like-minded people gathered at the Tourist Hall in the City and took out a procession with the slogan “Let untouchability die and humanity shine” and proceeded to the main circles of the City and staged a sit-in in the premises of the Zilla Parishad Bhavan.

Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said that centuries ago, Dr. Ambedkar, Buddha, Basava and Gandhi were equal. He tried to remove untouchability. Yet untouchability is still alive. This is indeed something that all of us who are conscious have to put an end to,” he said.

Therefore, there is a need to create awareness about this social evil, he added.
