Koppal: Minor Irrigation Minister J. C. Madhuswamy said that he will personally visit and inspect the development works of 122 tanks in the District.
Replying to a question raised by Member Hemalatha Nayaka during question hour in the Legislative Council on Thursday December 22 he said that a project has been taken up to fill 122 tanks and 39 tanks in the District through lift irrigation. However, Rs. 1 Crore has been allocated for the Balutagi Lake and Rs. 65 Lakh for Talakal Lake and the work is about to begin. A sum of Rs. 6.42 Crore has been allocated for the development of check dams in the District. The grant has been utilised, he said.
Member Hemalatha Nayaka said that it would be appropriate for the Minister to personally visit and inspect it. And also that the works were not done as neatly as they said they would, she added. To this, the Minister replied that he would personally visit the District after the session gets over.
