Koppal: It seems that the BJP has succeeded in appeasing the anger of Koppal MP Karadi Sanganna, as he has announced that he will campaign for BJP’s official candidate, Dr. Basavaraj Kyavatoor.

The Koppal unit of the BJP was simmering following the BJP high command’s decision to deny ticket to sitting MP Karadi Sanganna. The two-time MP was upset and was considering quitting the party to join the Congress.
Sanganna had demanded that the party leadership revise its decision. He and his followers even ransacked the party office in Koppal after news of the denial of the ticket to Sanganna broke.

Senior leaders, including former CM Basavaraj Bommai, Arvind Bellad, and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, held rounds of talks with him. Finally, the Lingayat leader bowed to the pressure and agreed to campaign for Dr. Kyavatoor, a physician and a political green-horn.

He stated that he would begin campaigning from today (Monday) evening, starting from Kushtagi, and urged his supporters to support Dr. Kyavatoor. He acknowledged that it is now difficult for the party to reverse its decision, but his supporters are demanding that he be made a Rajya Sabha MP. He mentioned that Home Minister Amit Shah will be in the state on April 2, and senior BJP leaders are expected to address his issue.

Sanganna stated that in politics, dialogues and deliberations continue to occur, sometimes yielding results, sometimes not. He clarified that he will remain in the BJP and has no plans to join the Congress.
