Raichur: According to sources, Raichur’s Principal District and Sessions Judge Mallikarjunagowda, has been transferred. His services are being made available to the government for being appointed as District Judge, OOD, and Presiding Officer of the Karnataka State Transport Appellate Tribunal in Bengaluru.
Many groups protested across the State, alleging that Mallikarjunagowda ordered the removal of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s portrait from the Raichur District Court complex during the Republic Day ceremony on January 26. They wanted action for his alleged act.
Office-bearers of the Union of Dalit Associations have said that the protest will continue until Mallikarjunagowda is suspended. The Vidhana Soudha Chalo has been set for February 19 by the Union.
