In a major move to strengthen government schools and support underprivileged children, the Karnataka government has announced free bus services for students from LKG to PUC studying in Karnataka Public Schools (KPS).

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar shared the news on platform X (formerly Twitter), highlighting that the initiative aims to ease the burden of travel costs and help thousands of economically weaker students attend school regularly.

Officials believe providing transportation will improve punctuality, attendance, and overall academic performance in government schools.

The announcement post read, “The government is committed to a bright future for children in government schools! To strengthen these institutions, the state has decided to start free bus services for all students from LKG to PUC across Karnataka.”

Detailed operational plans and timelines are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
