The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced the Karnataka Board 2nd PUC result for 2024. This year’s results showcase an increase in pass percentage attributed to a revised question paper pattern. Students can access their results on the official websites – karresults.nic.in.

Revised Question Paper Pattern: The pass percentage surge is credited to the implementation of an 80-20 question paper pattern, consisting of 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for internal assessment. Notably, 20 marks for theory include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), influencing the overall pass percentage positively. This pattern applies not only to science subjects but also to non-science subjects like mathematics and social science, marking a departure from previous years.

Topper and Pass Percentage: A student named Vidyalakshmi clinched the top position with an impressive score of 598 marks. The overall pass percentage for the Karnataka Board 2nd PUC exam stands at 81.15%. To pass, students must score a minimum of 33% marks in each subject.

Application for Scanned Copies and Revaluation: Students seeking scanned copies of their answer scripts can apply from today until April 16. The download option for scanned copies will be available from April 14 to 19. Additionally, the application window for revaluation and retotalling, open to those who request scanned copies, will operate from April 14 to 20. The application fee is Rs 530 for scanned copies per subject and Rs 1,670 for revaluation per subject.

Pass Percentage Breakdown: Out of 6,22,819 regular students, 5,26,858 passed, yielding a pass percentage of 84.59%. Among repeaters, only 41.98% qualified, with 15,116 out of 36,007 students passing. Furthermore, 48.16% of private candidates, totaling 10,716 students out of 22,253, cleared the exam. The overall pass percentage for Karnataka PUC 2024 result is 81.15%.

Examination Details: The Karnataka Board Pre-University Certificate (PUC 2) exam was conducted from March 1 to 22 this year. The timetable was released in December 2023, following a 15-day objection filing period. Examinations for first language and optional subjects were allocated 3 hours, including 15 minutes of reading time. Second and third language subjects had a duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Comparison with Previous Years: In contrast to last year’s pass percentage of 74.67%, this year’s results reflect a significant improvement. In 2023, out of 7,27,923 students, 5,24,209 were declared pass. Notably, the 2024 examination schedule and results release align with the board’s efforts to streamline the evaluation process and enhance student outcomes.
