Bengaluru: In light of the Covid-19 situation in Kerala, the Karnataka government advised people on Tuesday, September 7 to postpone visits to the neighbouring state till the end of October if there is no emergency or urgency, in order to avoid the third wave of Covid-19 and to protect public health.
In an advisory, signed by Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary the government instructed all administrators or principals of educational, nursing, and paramedical institutions to direct their wards who have not yet returned to Karnataka from Kerala to postpone or defer their return until the end of October.
All administrators or owners of hospitals, nursing homes, offices, hotels, factories, and industries have received similar instructions.
It also advised administrators or owners not to send their wards to Kerala till the end of October.
According to the sources, students and employees travelling from neighbouring states have been found Covid positive, despite having brought negative RT-PCR reports, and the number of positive cases are high in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.
