Chikkamagaluru: MLA C. T. Ravi celebrated Deepavali with Pourakarmikas in a Deepavali programme organised by the Town Municipal Corporation and Pourakarmikas’ Association in the Town.
Ravi performed the padapooja of the pourakarmikas and felicitated them on the occasion, thus marking Deepavali in a unique way.
Addressing the gathering he said, “When the light shines, there is no room for darkness. Casteism, untouchability, and darkness should be removed with the development of sense of oneness through family bonding and building relations. The society that is full of values should be created, he said.
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating Diwali with soldiers at the border, the Chikkamagaluru Municipal Corporation is celebrating Deepavali with pourakarmikas. Deepavalu is being celebrated with the relatives of pourakarmikas who fight for the health safety of the people of the Town on a daily basis. This is an unforgettable occasion, he expressed.
