Chikkamagaluru: Sri Swatantrata Basavalinga of Thontadarya Samsthana Matha in Basavapattana, Arakalagud Taluk, said that Hindus can survive only if the parents of Hindu girls are made more aware of Hindu culture.

He was speaking at a programme organised by the Bajrang Dal and VHP on the occasion of Datta Jayanthi at Guruvegowda Kalyana Mantapa premises here on the night of Sunday December 4.

Speaking on the occasion, he said “Today there is an urgent need to teach children the essence of Hindu culture, and Hindu scriptures. Arbitrariness is rampant in the society because of the young people who do not understand the essence of religion. This has resulted in people of other religions encroaching on our society,” he said.

He added that the work of upholding Hindu culture has to be done to create a society free from vices and hatred.
