Chikkamagaluru: Minister’s village stay, Government benefits flow

Chikkamagaluru: Revenue Minister R. Ashok stayed at Hulikere in Kadur Taluk as part of the Deputy Commissioner’s move towards the village.

Ashok’s stay in the village created a festive atmosphere with gaiety and government benefits flew to the village proved to be a boon for the villagers.

In the evening, the villagers welcomed Revenue Minister R. Ashok, MLA C. T. Ravi and a team of officials at Pillenahalli and brought them in a procession in bullock carts to Hulikere Village.

In front of Hulikare Village, hundreds of women took out a procession carrying kalashas on their heads after being welcomed by poornakumbha and aarti.

Minister, who arrived in the Village, first went to the Village Deity Maramma Temple, offered prayers and then walked towards the stage of the event.

Inaugurating the programme, the Minister distributed over 5,000 various Government benefits to the people of the village including old age pension, widow’s pension, disabled’s salary, ration card, land sanction and various subsidies. At the same time, the Minister distributed benefits of various departments to the beneficiaries.

Scooters for the disabled, agricultural machines for farmers, Ape vehicle, land rights and land title deeds were also given to the landless poor.
