Mudigere: Cases stand registered against six coolie workers in connection to murder of their companion who brutally assaulted by them on Tuesday night at Mathikatte in Banakal police station limits.
A coolie worker named Rudresh (46) from Parappanahalli was living at workers’ accommodation of Malligemane coffee estate and it was learnt that his companions named Mallish, Hanumanth Naik Shirahatti, Raghu Naik, Ravi Naik, Shanthabai Mallesh and Kavitha picked up a quarrel with Rudresh on Tueday night over a trivial reason. During the course of the fight, the six came together and bludgeoned Rudresh.
However, after several hours of battle for life, Rudresh succumbed to injuries on Wednesday morning.
Following a complaint from Rudresh’s wife Yashodamma, the police have registered cases against the said six persons.
