Chikkamagaluru: Wildlife conservation and the accumulation of wildlife artifacts have gained significant attention in the state. Concurrently, a legal case has been initiated against Shakhadri Hazrat Syed Gout Mohideen of the contentious Inam Dattatreya Baba Budan Swamy Dargah. This action was taken under the Forest Conservation Act of 1972 after tiger, leopard, and deer skins were discovered in Shakhadri’s residence.

Currently, forest department officials are gearing up for the apprehension of Shakhadri. This decision follows a raid conducted by forest department personnel at his residence on Mahatma Gandhi Road in the city on Friday. The raid was prompted by a complaint regarding the presence of tiger skin at Shakhadri’s house.

The leopard and deer skins were discovered during an inspection carried out by forest department personnel. They are currently conducting an investigation specifically concerning the tiger skin. Since Friday, Shakhadri has been absent and uncooperative with the authorities’ inquiries.
