Chikkamangaluru: Former naxal leader Hagalaganji Venkatesh along with local leaders submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner urging better facilities in the naxal-affected region in Chikkamagaluru.
Hagalaganji, Hullala, Karemane, Avige, Attiguli, Bittaguli and Girijana colonies lack basic amenities. Hence, several local leaders along with Venkatesh urged the DC to take up developmental works in the region.
When Channappa Gowda was the DC, lot of developmental works were undertaken. Roads, electricity and drainage facilities were provided. But now the people from the region are suffering due to irregular power supply, lack of health centre and the poor road condition, locals said.
