Chikkamagaluru: A doctor at a government hospital in Mudigere, was arrested on July 14 for his alleged misbehaviour with a female assistant.
The accused has been identified as Dr Veeresh Naregal of MGM Hospital. The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by the victim, which alleged that he not only behaved inappropriately with her but also threatened her life.
According to the complaint, the doctor allegedly pulled the woman towards him while she was on duty in the labour ward at the hospital. The woman immediately screamed for help and nearby assistants came rushing to help her. After the incidents, the doctor is alleged to have threatened the woman with “dire consequences” if she were to report the matter to anyone.
A case was registered by the Mudigere police based on the complaint, and the doctor was arrested.
