Hassan: Congress Leader H. K. Mahesh said that the guarantee cards of the Party’s manifesto are being distributed to all the houses in the District.
Speaking at a press conference, he said, “The BJP is lying to a great extent and now they don’t know who to trust. But Congress have acted as promised in the past. As promised 200 units of free electricity for each house that has already been announced and Rs. 2,000 per month to the owners of all the houses will be given, he said.
He said that the Guarantee Cards with the manifesto along with the scheme will be delivered door-to-door and acceptance will be obtained from them. For this, all booth level committees are being organised, he said.
He said the State Unit of the Congress had not announced that it would give 10 kgs of rice to everyone holding BPL cards from the first month of its coming to power. “We have already announced a guarantee from the party. We have announced the Gruhalakshmi and Gruhajyoti Jyothi schemes. As a third announcement, Annabhagya rice has been reduced from 7 kgs to 5 kgs. So we are announcing a third guarantee,” he said.
“The Congress will give a third guarantee to give 10 kgs rice per person to satiate the hunger of the people. We will give 10 kg of rice to BPL card holders,” he said.
Earlier, during the Congress rule, it was decided to give 7 kgs of rice. He complained that the BJP reduced it from 7 to 5kgs.
“After the BJP came to power in the Country, the poor middle class people are struggling to make a living, he said and accused the BJP Government at the Centre of only working for the growth of Adani Ambani and ignoring the poor.
