Hassan: Former Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy was accorded a grand welcome at 11.30 am in Shravanabelagola Assembly Constituency as the five-day ‘Pancharatna Yatra’ began in the District from Monday March 13.
Later, a road show and a massive rally was organised at Channarayapatna and was accompanied by Local MLA C. N. Balakrishna, Former Minister H.bD. Revanna, MP Prajwal Revanna and MLC Suraj Revanna. H. D. Kumaraswamy will hold a roadshow at Shravanabelagola and then stay at Vaddarahalli in Shravanabelagola Hobli.
The Pancharatna Yatra has begun in District and will conclude on Friday March 17 in six Assembly constituencies.
“The date of March 18 has been fixed and if all is decided smoothly by then, there is a possibility of a Pancharatna Yatra rally in Hassan Assembly Constituency on that day,” said Kumaraswamy.
Kumaraswamy reiterated that the second list of JD (S) candidates is being prepared and he is still committed to giving priority to party workers in Hassan Assembly Constituency.
As the 81-day-long Pancharatna Yatra began in Shravanabelagola Assembly Constituency in Hassan, Activists demanded that Swaroop be given a ticket in Hassan.
JD (S) Workers, who demanded a ticket for Swaroop in Hassan, surrounded Kumaraswamy and raised pro-Swaroop slogans.
