Hassan: In a shocking incident, a police raid at Ambedkar Circle on Mysuru Road in Channarayapatna found ration wheat being transported illegally from a government godown. The truck was loaded to transport wheat illegally from the godown of ‘The Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies Corporation’.
The police raid followed a tip-off and found 350 bags of wheat loaded illegally into the lorry. When the police arrived, the driver left the lorry and escaped. Godown manager Lingaraju is suspected of being involved in this illegal transportation of wheat.
Lingaraju was suspended seven months ago in the case of illicit transportation ration. Later he was transferred from Belur to Shimoga. Within a few days, Lingaraj had moved from Shimoga to Channarayapatna.
As per the police report, when questioned about the illegal transportation of wheat, the Food and Civil Supplies Corporation officials said that they had no information about it.
The raid took place under Channarayapatna city police station limits under the leadership of CPI Vansath Kumar.
