Hassan: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Rakshit Bharadwaj has urged the District Administration not to allow recitation of Quran in front of the chariot during the Chennakeshava Swamy Rathotsava and urged the District Administration to take appropriate action in this regard.
Speaking at a press conference here, he said that the Rathotsava should be held as per Hindu religious traditions and it is not right to recite the Quran on this occasion.
He complained that the ritual of recitation of the Quran was included with malafide intentions even though there was no mention of Quran recitation even in the temple manual. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had opposed the recitation of the Quran during the Rathotsava last year as well, but this time too, we are opposed to reciting the Quran in front of the Rathotsava. Further, he warned of a protest.
