Belur: A farmer lost his life when a wild elephant attacked at the Mastigudi Rehabilitation Centre in H.D. Kote taluk, Mysuru. Similarly, a laborer suffered a fatal injury in a wild elephant attack near Ankihalli, Bikkodu hobli, Belur taluk in Chikkamagaluru district.
The victim, identified as 54-year-old Deepak Roy, a laborer hailing from West Bengal, met with this unfortunate incident. While returning from work, Deepak Roy, who worked as a mason, was en route to a local store to purchase groceries when a wild elephant attacked him on the road.
His co-workers promptly rushed him to the Sakleshpur Hospital for urgent medical attention. Given the severity of his condition, doctors recommended transferring him to the district hospital. Tragically, Deepak Roy’s life couldn’t be saved, and he succumbed to his injuries before receiving further treatment.
