Shivamogga: BJP state unit president, former CM B S Yeddyurappa has expressed his confidence that he will become the Chief Minister of Karnataka again on May 24.

Speaking to the reporters after casting his vote in Shikaripura of the Shivamogga district, he stated that the coalition government will fall within minutes after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results.

“I will form the new government on May 24,” he said.

He also stated that the BJP is expected to win over 23 seats in the state in the 2019 Parliamentary elections. “The JDS-Congress coalition is trying to win seats using money, muscle and police power. But the people will teach them both a lesson,” he said.

Meanwhile, BJP sources in the state capital have confirmed that in the Chikkodi and Belagavi Lok Sabha constituencies, supporters of former minister, Congress rebel leader Ramesh Jarakiholi are supporting the BJP. “Ramesh sent a message to all his supporters on the eve of the polling day directing them to support the BJP candidates,” said a senior BJP leader.
